Hounds come out in front of the Whalers
The Plymouth Whalers were playing the Soo Greyhounds on Friday and the Hounds are pretty good and better than the Whalers but just by a little. In other news about the Whalers, Ryan Hartman came back but might be a little bad on his skate edges because he fell a few times but hopefully he can get the team fired up.
The Soo came out in front real early on a goal it just went past our goalie Ned which is his nickname. The Hounds scored again but then the Whalers scored one and it was 2-1 after the first period. The second period was the worst because the Soo scored again but in the third period we came out and scored early to make it 3-2 but then the Soo scored and then we scored and it was back to back. That was the game so the Soo won 4-3.
I don't know if the Whalers will go to the playoffs this year with this losing streak they have but I hope they do because the Whalers have a record for the most years making the playoffs in a row in all of sports.
Thanks for reading.

Merry Christmas from the Whalers!
They get a little crazy with these Christmas photos.
Mitch Jones is not in the Christmas spirit though.

Connor Carrick signs with the Capitals
Congratulations Connor!
Now if you could come back to the Whalers for the rest of the year, that would be great!
Slow start for the Whalers
The Whalers got off to a slow start Saturday and they lost 2-1 to the Erie Otters. Well we did score the first goal by Connor Chatham and that was good but the Whalers just did not play as well as we are used to. Later in the game, Connor got into a fight and got kicked out of the game. Oh well. The Whalers were a little better than Erie in the first period but the Otters outshot the Whalers really badly in the second and third periods.
We have a lot of new players like Connor, Bryce Yetman and Carter Sandlak and more. We also have a new backup goalie and his name is Zach Bowman so we will see how good he is.
Hopefully this will be a good year.
GO WHALERS!

Playing a tournament while waiting for the next Whaler game
State Wars Midwest 2013.
We went 3-0 today and play 2 games tomorrow and have clinched a spot in the finals.
Go Alkali Arsenal!
Go Whalers!
Loving hockey!
Great win the for Whalers!
I don't have much time because I am playing a hockey tournament today and tomorrow. So far we have won all three games we have played (8-0, 11-3 and 8-0).
Yesterday I watched the Whalers beat the Attack 5-0 to go up 3 games to 2. The Whalers outshot them like crazy but I don't have the numbers and I don't time to look it up now.
I give Alex Nedeljkovic the Whaler Town player of the game because he had a shutout.
Sorry, so short today.

Can't win 'em all I guess
But I wish they could.
Oh well, the Whalers lost their first game of the playoffs to Owen Sound 3-1 today. It started out pretty good when Ryan Hartman scored. The rest of the game the Whalers had some good chances but just couldn't get the puck in the net. Then the Attack scored 3 goals and it was all over. The Whalers still played pretty decent and still outshot the Attack. I give Ryan Hartman the Whaler Town player of the game.
We noticed that the Whalers were doing their penalty kill a little different as Stefan Noesen was heavily pressuring and harassing the point. Usually, the Whalers mostly back in on the penalty kill but we like this way better as Owen Sound was having problems passing the puck back to the point and this was messing them up.
Games 3 and 4 are during the week at Owen Sound. Game 5 is at Compuware Arena but I have to miss because my tournament is that night and all weekend. Oh well. Here is a picture of my team Alkali Arsenal in action. I am second from the left in the white helmet. Will be thinking about the Whalers when I am playing.
Go Whalers!
I got in another picture on the Whalers website
But just my hand when I was slapping hands with the Whalers.
This was a playoff game against the Sarnia Sting and this is Michael Whaley when the Whalers were coming out for warmups.
My hand is on the left with the blue Whalers jersey and the white shirt on the lower sleeve. I am too small to reach over the railing to slap hands so us little kids lay on the steps and reach out under the glass and slap hands that way. The players are cool and see us and slap our hands.
Love the Whalers.

Whalers keep winning!
Yesterday we saw the Whalers beat the Owen Sound Attack in Game 1 of Round 2 of the playoffs. The Whalers have won 22 of their last 23 games.
Owen Sound is really good. They are big, fast and physical, just like the Whalers. The Attack were winning 1-0 after the second period and everybody was getting nervous. Then on a power play, Garrett Meurs scored left circle and went top shelf. That is the second picture. Then Sebastian Uvira used his speed and got two breakaways and scored on both. Compuware Arena was going crazy! Then Rickard Rakell scored on an empty net at the end on the real long shot. It was a great game.
Owen Sound is really good and they are going to be hard to beat. I give Sebastian Uvira the Whaler Town player of the game. Sebastian is one of my favorite players on the team, and he is really friendly and likes kids.
The next game is Sunday at Compuware Arena and I am going.

So we play the Owen Sound Attack the next round
I have my tickets for Games 1 & 2.
My family has a cottage on Manitoulin Island right near Owen Sound and we go there every summer.
Last summer, I decided to bring the Whalers to the Owen Sound area and here are my pictures.
Go Whalers!

With no Whaler games and no games for my hockey teams....
So I went with my mom and my Uncle Mike and Aunt Kristen to Tony's Restaurant in Birch Run.
I had myself a 1/2 pound cheeseburger and ate it all.
This should hold me over to the next Whaler game.
